Overview

The Manulife Financial International Graduate Scholarship at Norman Bethune College will be awarded to an incoming and/or continuing graduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in a program affiliated with Norman Bethune College, and who is a graduate of one of York University's partner institutions in China.  Recipients for this scholarship will also automatically be considered a Junior Fellow of Norman Bethune College. Value and Duration

  • Up to 2 awards of up to $10,000

    • The value and number of award(s) in any given year will depend on the rate of distribution from the endowment fund and the number of recipients selected

Eligibility

  • Master's or doctoral
  • International student
  • Registered as full-time and must maintain satisfactory and normal progress towards completion in the program
  • Selection criteria includes:
    • Incoming and/or continuing graduate student enrolled in the Faculty of Graduate Studies, in a program affiliated with Norman Bethune College, and who is a graduate of one of York University's partner institutions in China.
    • Academic accomplishments

Graduate Program Responsibility

  • Programs will identify potential nominees and request the appropriate documentation — Incoming or current full-time York University graduate students are eligible to be considered
    • students cannot apply directly to FGS. They must be nominated by their Graduate Program
  • There is no limit on the number of files that programs may nominate to FGS

  • CV
  • Transcripts (supplied by graduate program from admissions file)
  • Letter of nomination (supplied by graduate program director)

Deadlines

  • Eligible students are encourage to seek program nomination by February 17.
  • Program nomination, with complete documentation, is due to the Scholarship and Awards Coordinator in FGS by March 2.
