The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is an application-based government aid program for Ontario resident students. Based on the government's assessment of your educational costs and expected financial resources, OSAP offers a mixture of repayable loans and grants (money you will not need to repay).
Graduate students who are applying for OSAP are required to report the value of the funding package on their OSAP application as income under the Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards field. The amount reported should reflect the actual amount to be received during the applicable OSAP period (i.e. if offered a $10,000 funding package for a full year = $3,333 per term, students should report $6,666 on the Fall/Winter OSAP application). Do not report any additional York scholarships, awards or bursaries received outside of the funding package if you have received notification in writing from York University that it will be reported to the Ministry on your behalf. If you have not received such notification, then you must report this income.
Please visit York University - OSAP for more information.
